30 years ago in New York. June. People trying to stay out of the heat. This year it was time for these photographs to leave the drawer. I submitted these two when ProCenter in Stockholm was arranging an exhibition of documentary photography. Are these documentary? Was this for real? Heaven knows. Too many years have passed. Too many rolls of film have been exposed and developed since.
Anyway, the picture of the man contemplating the lake made it to the exhibition. It’s going to be on show together with the work from 49 other photographers who claim themselves to be documentary.
I have no idea why the guy with the flag didn’t get printed and framed. Maybe he was too obvious. Maybe he was not romantic enough or maybe the picture was simply not good enough.
